A Fork in the Road?

In late 2013, China and South Korea each announced ambitious strategies to strengthen economic linkages with Central Asia and beyond. However, progress on Beijing셲 One Belt, One Road initiative seems to be outpacing President Park셲 Eurasia Initiative, which continues to be challenged by an obstinate North Korea in establishing land routes to Eurasia. Are these projects fated to be joining paths or diverging crossroads? Can Seoul strengthen its connectivity to the rest of the continent while North Korea continues to defy the international community?

Please join KEI and Dr. Balbina Hwang for an examination of how these Chinese and Korean projects to promote regional integration have been implemented and their significance for regional stability.
